Ergonomics
Ergonomics is the science of matching an individual with his/her workstation or job to optimize well-being and prevent injuries. Ergonomics is concerned with the "fit" between people and their work. It takes into account the worker's capabilities and limitations in seeking to ensure that tasks, equipment, information, and the environment suit each worker.
Proper ergonomic design is necessary to prevent repetitive strain injuries, which can develop over time and can lead to long-term disability. The five main aspects of ergonomics are safety, comfort, ease of use, productivity/performance, and aesthetics.
